9/11

today is the sixth anniversary of the day that the world will remember forever.. 2,974 victims in total (World Trade Center towers, the Pentagon and a field in PA). i'm sure that this day changed the way people look at different things in the world, it changed the understanding of humanity.. it will always be one of the worst days in the world's history

9:55, 10:29 a.m. were the times that the planes hit the first and the second of the twin towers. 11 is the mysterious number that dominated when you look deeper into this catastroph (read more:http://www.september11news.com/Mysteries2.htm )
Today, on the sixth anniversary new contructions are in progress. There should be a museum open in 2009 and new building are scheduled to open in 2011.
stop and make a pause, to remember this day and those people, their families and lives..

FREE THE JENA "6"

today i've been invited to join this group on facebook but i had no idea what's this all about...until i read the story.. one more horrible segregation-era oppression case. because it's really important to me i've read everythin and i was shocked that this is still happening in the world. i know that some stereotypes are still alive especially in the states but i hope that there will be a day when people won't separate themselves into different races. we are all different and that's the beauty of the world but looking to the facts in history, it's up to us to change this! "It's a story that reads like one from the Jim Crow era, when judges, lawyers and all-white juries used the justice system to keep blacks in "their place." i'm not gonna tell the whole story but it sounds horrible, you can read more here http://www.blackamericaweb.com/site.aspx/bawnews/jenasix702 and you can sign onto ColorOfChange.org's campaign for justice in Jena http://www.colorofchange.org/jena/?id=2559-212460

freshmen camp a.k.a. 3days partyin:D

so that was the weekend when all the new university students got together to get to know each other as we did the same last year. first of all i didn't want to go there that much and on the way to the place i was still thinkin of things that i couldn't manage during the week and so on but... not that much time past and Egle was havin a blast:D dancin like crazy already in the car, then tryin to "build" a team from people that stayed in house no.6 :D yea this was THE house, the people were great even tho we thought that this is not gonna be fun.. first night was partyin soooo hard, proly mixed almost everythin what's possible and danced like craaaazy:) second day was mostly chillin, talking and then again partyin (pictures later hopefully) so it was great to relax and not to think of things you have to do at least for couple of days even tho it's kinda hard to come back to routine now:)

globalization (2nd part)..

just a short note..i've been discusing a lot about globalization issue with one of my friends.. and started thinking "how many people i've "lost" because of it??" they are not gone but probably i'm not gonna see them ever again in my life.. familes, love, friendships - globalization breaks them all. yea we become stronger by living in different environments, learning about new cultures, meeting new people, doing different things but at the end it's sooo hard to leave everything and to forget that you didn't experience it! one of my biggest dreams is to gather all the people that i've met in my life to one place and to talk to them again...even tho u have to believe in your dreams i know that this one is imposible (unless i become a millionaire and i won't have nothing to do:)), talking seriously i still hope to see at least some of them.. oh well, that's fron another site IS the beauty of life and you have no choice just to be happy to have met those people:)
Papsakok man save

Papasakok man save. Pasakyk, kuo gyveni, ką mąstai ir jauti. Atsiverk man.
Nes kai tu neatsiveri, aš negaliu tavęs suprasti.
Kai tu slepiesi, man atrodo, kad tu manim nepasitiki.
Kai negaliu tavęs išklausyti, nesujaučiu tau reikalingas.
Kai negaliu tavęs suprasti, nejaučiu tavo pasitikėjimo ir nesijaučiu tau reikalingas, man sunku tavimi pasitikėti.
Papasakok man save. Leisk man tave išgirsti ir suprasti.

(kazkur radau..ir man patiko)

globalization...

it was weird when i went to the village where my grandmother lives.. i was shocked by the environment around the house.. i used to spend at least a month every summer there, run in the fields, have tons of cats and dogs around, got to the gardens of neighbours to get some fruits, play different games with kids around, go for long walks and do many other fun things.. but now all the houses are sold and they are gone except two in the middle...this huge logistic company built enourmous buildings around, changed the road and big vans are always going there.. there's also a new railway build for trains to trasport everything... it looks soooo sad, everything what we used to have as children is gone!

People doing "BIG" things..

What wonderful people i‘ve met i‘m amazed with their energy and passion they have, huge willingness to make some changes in this world, to make differences in countries, in personalities. They are so lucky, they have opportunities to change so many lives, to develop personalities, to leave unforgetable experiences for everyone who had this honour to be met.. One good work calls the other.. and I HAVE A DREAM that one day i can be as passionate as them, the ones that make such changes, i hope i will be able to help others and give them an amazing chance to experience the same things that i did, the year that changed me as a person. I started appreciating many more things, i found true friendships and learned so much that you couldn‘t even recall everything. It‘s the best school that i‘ve ever had it‘s a „life“ school that teaches you things that some people might not understand for the whole life they live when you are just sixteen. But life is cruel and sometimes not fair and one more time i could realize that when i found out that one of these amazing people that made this happen and was a big part of my experience is punished with one of the worst deseases ever! You start asking your self but why?and you never can find answers to such questions because probably no one will find explanation for this.. It is how it is, the only thing i can do just say big THANK YOU for these people and wish them luck, strength and all the best i can. YOU really are doing BIG things..

Dear loved ones,

There are some things I want to share with you because I love talking and sharing with people. Sometimes you need to sit down for some time and think..think how happy you are, how many wonderful people and things are around you. World is small, life is short, there´s no time not to use the opportunities that it offers. You have to love and cherish people and things when you have them not when you loose them.. I know it´s hard for everyone to do that but that´s what´s our life for… we are here to learn many things, I try to do that everyday of my life not only by reading university books but most of the things I get from different people. When I think how many different ones I know I cannot imagine them in one place! Some of the most important ones (seriously even though it´s been just a bit than three years that we know each other) are YOU, yes ALL of YOU. I love sharing with you, spending time, doing anything! Really, I guess it doesn´t matter when, where and how what matters is people around you. When I think how much I learnd from each one of you… Jus visi esat tie isskirtiniai zmones kurie mane motyvuoja kasdien kazka veikti kazko siekti.. Net neisivaizduoju koks mano gyvenimas butu buves jei nebuciau sutikus jusu! Believe in this because i really believe in you, my dear friends! Niekada net negalvojau kad dalyvaujant panasioj programoj gali gauti tieeeek daug kad net apsakyti negali, tiek daug neikainojamu dalyku!! Ech, gerai jau pradeda asaros kauptis akyse, ir lietis per mano zandus:) bet juk verkti nera del ko, nebent is laimes, kad visu musu gyvenimai tiesiog nuostabus! Admit it!;) del to ir verkiu!;) ivertinkit save!

Hope to keep such relationships the whole life! I´m proud of each one of you and it´s my honour to know you!
So if you need anything just call my name;)
Hope to see you soon! And for now have the best day ever! Stop and think for a sec;) maybe some wonderful things are waiting for you to be recognized…

yours,

smiling redhead;)

"u think dollars, u get dollars..."

today i saw a movie about Ray Charles. those who haven't seen it yet just MUST watch it!it's inspirational, influencial, amazing..it brought me different thoughts to my mind and feelings inside me..i was watchin it in one of my classes and i realized to day how many young people in Lithuania are still not aware of much stuff going on in the world. almost none of them knew the history of African-Americans and that's how all the misunderstandings come from..no one teach us at school about discrimination, racism, diversity and things like that..they are really important but here we sit in our small country and the government thinks that we don't need it because we have no minorities in the country..so those who saw this movie probably remember this place which shows how Ray gets on a bus in like 1948 and sits in the back because the second part of the bus has a card wich says "coloured" and segregates black people from the whites..everytime i see such thing it hurts somewhere inside i don't kno why tho but it does...i've studied African-Americans' history in the US and many things about them but the whole class started laughing!!!when i asked one girl sitting next to me what's so funny?! she replied: "oh did you see there's a table which says "coloured"! it's just so funny!" sorry but i didn't see anything funny in this situation i just thought in my head "if you just knew something more about that period of time.." i guess it's easy for us to speak such things when we've never experienced anything similar...but if you think about people you know of colour (i hope you kno some) and how this historical period touched their families, it aint funny at all...
this was a movie that while watching Ray playing his first notes reminded my first steps in music world, how me being little started to play the piano and how this is still going on..this is a movie with big names such as Earl Hines, Art Tatum, Lionel Hampton and others who were great jazz musicians and that im familiar with from my jazz history classes..this is also a movie that touches not only issues of blacks being discriminated but also of these people being segregated from everyone else..it's just an amazing movie which is based on a true story that teach you a lot and while watchin you start thinking deeper about your life...you just have to see it!
